I only design for Blogger at this time. If you have a WordPress blog, I would be happy to create your custom graphics, but I do not do any installation on WordPress.
Ordering, Deposit, & Payment
To order your custom blog design, please complete the sign up form and pay the deposit via the PayPal link. Chalk & Apples accepts payment through Paypal only. For all custom designs, a non-refundable $50 deposit is required to hold your place on the wait list. Upon completion of the design, a Paypal invoice will be sent for the remaining balance, and must be paid before installation. For all other work, including premade designs, payment must be made in full before work begins. No design work will be published on a client’s site until payment in full has been made.
Design Process & Wait Time
Once you complete the sign up form and pay your deposit, I will place you in the next available design slot. I will email you with the start date for your design and a link to the design questionnaire. This questionnaire must be completed before your start date. From there, the design process varies from one blogger to the next. The entire design process typically takes about a month. Total design time will depend greatly on the promptness with which you respond to emails and your decisiveness when decisions are being made. Design previews are usually sent during the first week for approval and edits. Please remember that while I make every effort to prioritize your project, I am also a full time teacher, a wife, and a mom, and my design time is sometimes limited on weekdays.
All communication is via e-mail, and the process often requires many quick back and forth emails. The quicker we can communicate, the quicker we can get your new design finished and installed!
Failing to respond to emails in a timely manner will cause a delay in your project and/or loss of design slot.
Design Proofs & Revisions
Your design is created based on your design questionnaire, so please be as specific as possible. When your header design is ready, I will send you a proof. Please request any design changes at this time, before I have created the other design elements.
*Custom Designs include reasonable revisions throughout the design process. I will change any part of your design prior to your approval of the design header. Once the header is approved, and I begin creating other elements, a major change (such as requesting a different layout, completely different fonts, or a change to the color palette) will incur additional fees at the hourly rate.
*PreMade designs are installed as-is. No changes to fonts or colors will be made unless agreed upon prior to your design purchase.
Revisions after Installation
Once a design has been installed on the client’s site, only minor revisions will be made (changing the color of links, or the font for post dates/titles, etc.). Any changes that require revision of the design images or HTML coding will incur additional fees at the hourly rate, with a minimum charge of one hour.
*You May: Use your button on social media, online storefronts, or for marketing purposes. Add widgets to your sidebar. Add plugins to your blog (such as LinkWithin, etc.).
*You May NOT: Alter your blog header or background. Alter design elements (Such as your signature, post icon, post divider, etc.), change fonts, add design elements that you have created (without express permission from me), share design elements with others, or remove the design credit.
Chalk & Apples does not offer refunds on partial or full payments, even if you decide to cancel.
A Chalk & Apples Blog Design credit will be placed in the footer of your blog. This blog button must remain on the blog as long as the design is installed. Removal of this link is in violation of this agreement and subject to breach of contract.
The rate for all hourly work is $30/hour, and is billed in 30 minute increments with a minimum charge of one hour.
All designs are uniquely created & owned by Chalk & Apples Blog Design and are protected under copyright laws. Copyright on all software and code remains the property of Chalk & Apples Blog Design or its otherwise respective owner. All blog designs created by Chalk & Apples are intended to be used as created. Clients may make minor changes to the design, such as adding additional sidebar labels, etc. but should not make major changes to designs created by Chalk & Apples without express permission from me to do so. If the client wishes to make major changes to the design, he/she should remove all design elements created by Chalk & Apples prior to doing so.
Please note that by submitting your payment for my services you are agreeing to all of our terms of service as written here. Chalk & Apples Blog Design reserves the right to change or update these terms at any time without prior notice.
